Two nearly identical, extremely rare, antique faience Egyptian necklaces. Hand made in Egypt in the 17th-18th century, these pendants were primarily sold to English youths who, upon turning 21, would take a once in a lifetime tour of the ancient monuments and sites to complete their educational experience. They were sold as genuine, as were reproductions of ancient pottery and other artifacts. Mounted for modern wear with an 18” sterling silver neck chain. Genuine antique replicating the 3000 year old original. It is extremely rare to have a set of two almost identical available for sale.
